Collaborative blog with Darcy and Vesh
For educational and legal purposes, We will be going through a hypothetical budget and contracts
Contracts
For the hypothetical contracts we would use for this project, we could use a service agreement. A service agreement is an agreement made by two parties that documents the agreements between them with regards to the performance of the services by one party to the other. Terms could include
Fees and expenses
Nature of the services
Term of service agreement
Right, Responsibilities and Obligations of the Parties
Confidentiality and Privacy
Insurance, Tax and Super
Song one
Kudzai - Vocals
Vesh - Co-producer, mix engineer, recording engineer
Darcy - Producer, mix engineer
Song Two
Tanaka - Vocals
Vesh - Co-producer, mix engineer, recording engineer
Darcy - Producer, mix engineer
As for copyright, The composer who wrote the music owns copyright in the musical works, in this case, that is Darcy and The lyricist who wrote the lyrics owns copyright in the literary works, that would be Tanaka and Kudzai, the artist who performed the music owns copyright in a sound recording in their live performance, again Tanka and Kudzai own their copyright on their performance however we could use a musician waiver and release form but it wont be necessary as everything is record in SAE, technically they own the rights to use our music in marketing. Budget
Now we will look at our proposed budget for this project, as a reference we have used the prices that Alchemix Recording Studio Brisbane have advertised on their website which can be seen at the following link.
https://www.alchemix.com.au/prices.htm
Over the course of the Project we had five, four hour studio sessions
Estimated cost.
4 hours session - $200
5 Sessions
This comes to a cost of $1000
say if we charged an hourly rate around 30 an hour for our services, this would cost another 600 or 1,200 if we charged separately. hypothetically if i wasn't a part of ZFG, The artist would have to set aside around $2,200 for our services. For future projects when we no longer have access to these studios, we will have to seek alternative options, instead of spending $2,200 for an EP recording, we could create our own home studio and say for gear.
