Interview and interviewing

This week’s online lecture discussed ‘secret interview techniques’ that we can use to better understand questions that are asked by employers. Companies such as Google, Pixar and Microsoft ask questions that try to find out how we think and work with others. These questions are structured in a way that we almost unknowingly reveal our true personality. Also discussed were stories of how individuals managed to get hired through their perseverance of applying and getting into contact with the company they wish to work with.

After reading and viewing these success stories of keen individuals wanting to enter the creative industries and getting hired through their resilience in applying for the job I reflected on the times I've informally interviewed my classmates and discussed collaborating on mix-tapes and future projects. It is expected that after I finish my degree I will apply for a job and work for someone until I can save enough to have my own studio however that is not my ultimate goal. I wish to be a producer known for my music production and collaborations with well known RnB and Hip-Hop artists and producers. This whole article was focused on getting a job and working for someone else, it also was more of a guild to understanding trick questions and answering them to the best of your ability. I want to break away from the norm and not just work under someone for the rest of my life but to get my name out there as a producer and hopefully be able to have my own record label like Drake's producer Noah '40' Shebib who is one of my many inspirations.
Despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 22, Noah Shebib didn’t let it stop him from achieving his dreams. Todays he is a Grammy award winning producer and continues to work with Grammy award winning artist and close friend Drake Graham. Ultimately after I finish my studies I wish to hopefully find an employer that will support my development as a producer and allow me to take my experiences and work on my own projects and collaborations with other artist. Therefore, by understanding these interview techniques and processes I hope I will be able attract the likeminded individuals to collaborate with.
